Data Science Manager, Center of Innovation

Your Role

As a Data Science Manager, you will oversee the development and application of advanced data analytics to drive innovation and process improvements. You will be responsible for managing data systems, ensuring data integrity, and leading a team to deliver actionable insights.


Responsibilities

·      Data Systems Management: Oversee the development, use, and maintenance of data systems, ensuring accuracy, security, and confidentiality.

·      Data Analytics: Utilize advanced statistical techniques to analyze data and interpret results to inform business decisions.

·      Process Improvement: Employ continuous improvement methodologies (such as PDCA) to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of data management processes.

·      Leadership: Provide support for team member development through coaching, mentoring, and fostering a collaborative environment focused on teamwork and inclusion.

·      Project Management: Utilize agile methodologies to manage and deliver data science projects successfully.

·      Communication: Develop and deliver effective communication strategies to inform management and team members about critical data-related information and initiatives.

·      Compliance: Ensure adherence to local, regional, and federal regulations.

·      Technical Implementation: Implement and upgrade data management and visualization tools to enhance analytical capabilities.


Qualifications

·      Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Master's Degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, or Information Systems Management preferred.


Experience:

·      2+ years’ supervisory experience in a data-centric role, with demonstrated experience.

·      5+ years' supervisory experience preferred, especially in an automotive manufacturing environment with Lean Manufacturing Principles (such as TPS or Mazda One).

Skills:

·      High analytical and technical skills with proficiency in statistical software and programming languages (e.g., R, Python).

·      Strong attention to detail and ability to manage data accuracy.

·      Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).

·      Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

·      Strong time management and organizational skills.

·      Ability to collaborate effectively with team members at all organization levels.


Certifications:

·      Certified Analytics Professional (CAP) preferred.
