The Engineering Change Management (ECO) team is responsible to plan, track, and execute engineering changes (ECs) to optimize customer experience and business results. The team is accountable for determining the optimal EC transition date to minimize excess inventory and maintain production continuity. The team works cross functionally with Engineering, Supply Planning, Demand Planning, Customer Service, Product Configuration, Inventory, and Regulatory.

The Engineering Change Planner, Senior has both a vital and key role within the team. In addition to planning, tracking, and executing engineering changes, the right candidate will be expected to participate in project/program management tasks, integrate continuous improvement activities, systems integration, and develop productive relationships with suppliers.

• Responsible for planning, managing and controlling ECs through the implementation date.
• Perform necessary supply-demand analyses to establish optimal EC transition dates for the supply chain. Analyses to be performed at necessary levels of bill of material (BOM) to ensure liabilities at all levels are considered.
• Ensure material is ordered to support the EC transition date at the agreed upon quantity.
• Secure alignment to the EC transition (cut over) plan with all Supply Chain, Engineering and Business teams.
• Manage, adjust and implement EC cut over dates over time to minimize excess inventory and to assure manufacturing continuity. Communicate recommended plan changes to assure no upstream or downstream constraints exist as a result of the proposed change.
• Plan and execute post-EC implementation activities (rework, scrap, open PO adjustments) at Zebra distribution centers and suppliers.
• Ensure EC costs (recurring and non-recurring) are captured using Cost Impact Sheet. Ensure all alternatives are considered before absorbing scrap and rework costs

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree
• 5 years experience in material management including purchasing, planning or manufacturing

Preferred Qualifications

• Analytical skills relative to data mining and process development
• Experience creating and maintaining processes
• Contract Manufacturing experience 
• Direct manufacturing experience in the electronics industry 
• In-Depth Oracle experience
