Position Overview

The eCommerce and Customer Empowerment (ECE) Data Science team is looking for a Data Scientist Intern to help with a project focusing on personalizing the customer experience during their online path to purchase. The intern in this role will partner with fellow Data Scientists, eCommerce experts, and Autodesk Community members in order to develop a proof of concept aiming to provide a personalized experience to Autodesk customers in their path to purchase. The role will investigate behavioral and text data in order to understand customer needs, as well as apply Machine Learning (ML) and Natural Language Processing (NLP) to optimize the customer experience when using a social question and answering module.


Responsibilities

  • Principal responsibility for designing and testing a proof of concept for a user focused personalized experience between eCommerce and Autodesk Community
  • Design and implementation of services, models, and interfaces to support this proof of concept
  • Work closely with the rest of the team to gather and analyze user behavior data
  • The ideal candidate is a strong data scientist who thinks outside the box, is naturally curious, highly collaborative, and has a passion for tackling complex data-centric problems


Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 and enrolled in college or non-traditional education, such as coding boot camps or industry-related vocational classes
  • Proficiency in Python, Machine Learning including deep learning, and Natural Language Processing
  • Ability to work as an individual contributor in a supportive team environment


Preferred Qualifications a bonus, but not required

  • Pursuing a Master’s or PhD in Statistics, Math, Computer Science, Information Science, Data Science, Analytics, Machine Learning, Physical Sciences, or a related field
  • Previous projects relating to personalized recommendations
  • Amazon Web Services/SageMaker experience

About the eCommerce and Customer Empowerment Data Science Team

The ECE Data Science Team is responsible for applying technology and analysis to improving the ecommerce and customer support functions at Autodesk. Our team is made up of a diverse group of people with varied backgrounds and interests. We work in a supportive and collaborative way, applying the latest technology and rigorous analysis to solve interesting questions. Examples of our work include models for routing customer queries to agents, designing effective scripts for our support chatbot, and measuring the impact of automation on customer forums.

About the US Intern Program

The U.S. program runs from May through August for 12 weeks and will be remote (subject to change). All internships are paid. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects, be mentored by industry leaders, work alongside peers from universities all over the country and participate in tech talks and other activities designed to support your personal and professional development. US recruiting begins in the Fall and concludes end of March.
