Are you curious about people’s travel decisions? Do you enjoy working with data? Are you intrigued by public policy? Then this job is for you…MTA Bridges & Tunnels is seeking a Senior Manager who would be responsible for travel demand modeling, analysis and reporting.
The Senior Manager, Modeling Analysis & Reporting will play a critical technical role on the Central Business District Tolling Program (CBDTP) team in their work to develop and implement the first congestion pricing program in the United States, if approved. The Senior Manager will use programming skills and an understanding of travel demand modeling to assist with near-term planning and forecasting, policy research, economic analyses, data collection, and data analytics to support a large body of work related to statutory reporting, as well as other internal and external monitoring and evaluation requirements related to the operations of the CBDTP. The incumbent will be responsible for developing techniques to glean insights from data, apply expertise in data analytics and data mining, establish appropriate performance metrics, develop monitoring process, and develop and design reports to present findings to a variety of audiences. Additionally, the position will be assisting with research and analysis of traffic and transit data, including but not limited to congestion/mobility, safety, environmental impacts, and more.
The incumbent will conduct assessments of travel behavior changes and manage, analyze, summarize, and update large datasets.
Six (6) years of experience leading the delivery of projects and solutions for data and analytics; three (3) years of experience working in transportation or related field
Including two (2) years of managerial/supervisory experience
Excellent data analysis and coding skills to support analytics and data manipulation (R, SQL, Python, GISDK, C++)
Experience with ArcGIS, TransCAD, VISSIM, AIMSUN, and Synchro
Experience with New York Best Practice Model (NYBPM) and knowledge of Census data (ACS/ CTPP)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Experience with data collection, statistical analyses (discrete choice models, sampling, regressions, etc.), and surveys
Experience working with socioeconomic and demographic data and/or forecasts
Experience with traffic and/or regional travel demand modeling - including network coding
Excellent project management and/or organizational skills
Excellent research and writing skills; experience writing for a variety of audiences is a plus
Excellent inter-personal, communication, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work in a multi-paced environment
PREFERRED
Advanced degree (i.e., MA, MS, MBA) preferred
Experience with RStudio, Github, Tableau, and Power BI is a plus
Familiar with data governance - knowledge of big data
Familiar with NEPA, SEQRA, CEQR
Familiar with land use models, air quality models (ex. EPA MOVES3), toll optimization, dynamic traffic assignment, freight modeling, and other peripheral ancillary models
Demonstrated ability to evaluate ridership impacts and understanding of travel behavior
Demonstrated ability with complex data analytics, visualization, and spatial analysis
Understanding of technology systems, is a plus
